Boca Raton, FL – 44-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash on Florida’s Turnpike
Boca Raton, FL (April 3, 2021) – A 44-year-old man from Miami was killed in a crash that took place on Tuesday along the Florida’s Turnpike. The crash happened at approximately 6:15 p.m. near Mile Marker 78.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was driving a pickup truck and experienced engine trouble. As a result, he pulled over to the side of the road to check the engine. While he was standing on the side of the road, the man was hit by an SUV that veered out of its lane and onto the shoulder of the roadway. The man, who was not identified, died at the accident scene. The SUV driver, who was also not identified, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the collision. There were no other vehicles involved or injuries reported. Traffic in the area was slowed as a result of the collision and subsequent investigation. Motorists were urged to use caution or to find alternate routes of travel.
An investigation is ongoing. There is no further information available and no word on whether any charges have been filed.
