Boynton Beach, FL – Two Killed in Crash on Turnpike near Mile Marker 84
Boynton Beach, FL (July 25, 2021) – Two people were killed following a car accident in Boynton Beach on Thursday, July 22nd. The crash took place around 8:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike near mile marker 84.
According to a report from the scene, a truck was traveling on the Turnpike when the driver failed to slow for traffic in front of him. The truck went over a concrete bridge and came to rest in a canal after striking two other vehicles. The truck driver, a 66-year-old man from Hialeah, died at the scene. A 42-year-old woman from Loxahatchee was killed after her car was hit by the truck. A 37-year-old woman from Royal Palm Beach sustained minor injuries. None of the victims have been identified at this time.
The southbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed while police investigated at the scene. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes of travel.
