What is a uninsured/underinsured motorist provision in Florida?

Transcript

When you purchase insurance, you may be allowed to purchase uninsured or under-insured motorist coverage. That insurance basically says that if you are involved in an accident which is not your fault, and the at fault party either has no insurance or not enough insurance to pay the full value of your claim, you’re entitled to collect the full value of your claim from your uninsured motorist company. The uninsured motorist company tries to collect it’s money from the at fault driver. It allows you to collect the full value of your claim and it’s a very, very beneficial portion of your policy.
