Sweetwater, FL - Line Worker Hurt in Accident on Flagler St

Sweetwater, FL (September 8, 2023) – An industrial accident left a Miami-Dade line worker in serious condition on Friday morning, and authorities are currently investigating the incident.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department’s investigation, officers from the Sweetwater Police Department responded to a report of an explosion and an injured line worker behind a residence at 10392 SW Flagler Street.

They found a subcontracted line worker who had been servicing local power lines and had been electrocuted by live wires and was unconscious. Members of his construction team were able to lower him safely to provide first aid as Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived.

As soon as MDFR came, they attended to the worker and rushed him to the closest trauma unit.

Authorities are still looking into the accident’s cause and have not provided further details.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured man and his loved ones.
