Pedestrian Accidents in Florida

Pedestrian accidents in Florida are, unfortunately, quite a common occurrence. This is especially true in urban areas such as Miami where pedestrians share the roadway with motorists on a regular basis. According to statistics, about 75% of all Florida pedestrian accidents involve a visit to the ER. About 20% of all traffic accident deaths in Florida are attributable to pedestrian crashes. Pedestrians are extremely vulnerable to being seriously injured or killed in a crash, especially compared to victims of other types of traffic accidents.

If you or a family member have been affected by a pedestrian accident in our state, you may have certain legal rights. In the aftermath of the accident, it is important to speak with a local attorney. If you have lost a family member or loved one as a result of the crash, you could be entitled to file a wrongful death claim. Under Florida law, wrongful death actions can allow you to seek recovery on behalf of your loved one, including payments for medical and funeral bills, lost wages, loss of affection and companionship, and potentially more.
