Lauderhill, FL (April 25, 2021) – A pedestrian identified as Aaron Adams, 65, of Fort Lauderdale, lost his life after a traffic accident in Lauderhill on Friday, April 16. At approximately 9:00 p.m, the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit was dispatched to the scene of the accident on West Broward Boulevard.

According to reports concerning the incident, it happened in the 3400 block of West Broward Boulevard near Northwest 34th Avenue. A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado struck Adams while he was attempting to cross West Broward Boulevard.

Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Florida

Along with distracted driving, a high rate of pedestrian fatalities is caused by alcohol use on the part of either the pedestrian or the driver. The majority of critical pedestrian accidents take place in metropolitan areas after dark. Most of these accidents also occur mid-block instead of in intersections. This suggests that most pedestrian fatalities happen due to an inadequate number of crosswalks and traffic control tools.
