Tamarac, FL - Fatal Pedestrian Collision on FL Trnpke

Tamarac, FL (March 21, 2024) – A man was killed on Florida’s Turnpike after a truck struck him early Wednesday morning near Coconut Creek, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

A 54-year-old man was driving a white International SF647 truck, heading north on the Turnpike, when he struck the man around 2:45 a.m. It’s unclear if the pedestrian had pulled over as a result of another crash or a breakdown of his vehicle. Officials said the motorist pulled over just north of Coconut Creek Parkway. Tamarac Fire Rescue paramedics said the pedestrian died on the highway shortly thereafter.

We extend our sincere condolences to the deceased man’s family.
