Pedestrian Accidents in Florida

A Florida pedestrian accident is likely to lead to some type of injuries for the victim. According to statistics, about 20% of all car accident deaths in Florida are attributable to pedestrians. Moreover, about 75% of all pedestrian accidents in Florida resulted in a visit to the emergency room with about 20% of the victims needing to be hospitalized for treatment of serious injuries. A pedestrian who is involved in a crash is far more likely than another type of motorist to suffer injuries when they are the victim of a crash. This is because pedestrians have no protection from the force and impact of a collision and they are often not given any time to react to avoid the crash from occurring.

If you have been affected by a Florida pedestrian accident, you may potentially have a long road ahead of you as you begin your recovery. In these types of crashes, it is certainly not uncommon to see victims who are hospitalized for weeks and even months in the aftermath of the crash. During this time, you are forced to miss work and are unable to provide for yourself and your family. As the medical bills begin to pile up, it is normal to wonder if you will ever be able to regain the life that you enjoyed before the accident.
