Miami, FL - Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on 49th St

Miami, FL (November 16, 2023) – Officers from the City of Miami Police Department were called to the scene of an accident that resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man on the morning of Tuesday, November 14th.

According to responding personnel, the incident took place at about 5:30 a.m. in the area of 79th Street and Northeast First Avenue near Lafayette Square. Despite lifesaving efforts by responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Northeast 79th Street was shut down in both directions between Northeast First Avenue and North Miami Avenue as investigators determined the cause of the accident. It is unclear if speed or intoxication were factors.
