Miami, FL – Man Killed, Woman Hurt in Helicopter Crash on 187th Ave

Miami, FL - Man Killed, Woman Hurt in Helicopter Crash on 187th Ave

Miami, FL (December 27, 2023) – A helicopter crashed near the intersection of SW 122nd Street and 187th Avenue, a few miles west of Miami Executive Airport, just after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27.

Units responded immediately to the scene, stated a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department. A man was pulled from the ocean by scuba divers, and a woman was also rescued from the scene. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, but the man did not survive his injuries. Officers say they expect the woman will recover, however. The FAA and NTSB will investigate the crash, though no further details about the victims’ identities have been provided in the meantime.

Our sincere condolences go out to the deceased man’s family. Our thoughts are with the injured woman and her loved ones.
