Miami, FL - Man Killed, One Hurt in Head-on Crash on Powerline Rd

Miami, FL (November 28, 2023) – According to officials, a man from Coconut Creek was killed in a collision that occurred over the weekend near Pompano Beach.

Per the Broward Sheriff’s Office, a 70-year-old man was traveling northbound on Powerline Road in a 1998 Chevrolet S10 when he was involved in a head-on collision with a 2008 Volkswagen just after 7:50 p.m. The female driver of the VW was taken to a nearby hospital from the site of the accident at the 600 block of North Powerline Road by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue. According to the authorities, she was seriously hurt. The BSO did not release her identity. The man was declared dead on the scene by paramedics. Officials reported that BSO traffic homicide investigators are looking into the collision.
