Miami, FL – Man Killed in Hit-and-Run at 27th Ave & 97th St

Miami, FL - Man Killed in Hit-and-Run at 27th Ave & 97th St

Miami, FL (September 20, 2023) – On Wednesday, officers from Miami-Dade County revealed footage from a security camera that captured a tragic hit-and-run that happened last week.

Authorities report that the collision happened on Tuesday evening, about 10:30 p.m., in the 2700 block of Northwest 97th Street.

A 60-year-old man was crossing 27th Avenue north of 97th Street when he was hit by a dark-colored Chevy Silverado, according to the police.

Authorities said the pickup truck driver left the site of the incident without rendering assistance or calling for emergency services.

The victim was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel before passing away several days later.

Witnesses were asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers if they knew anything about the collision or the driver.

Our deepest condolences are with the deceased man’s family.
