Fort Lauderdale, FL (September 29, 2023) – A pedestrian was killed after a vehicle driven by a Publix employee struck them as they crossed the street near one of the Fort Lauderdale locations.

The incident occurred on Friday night, per reports from local authorities. Officers responded to the Publix on 15th Avenue Northeast Lauderdale around noon.

Early reports indicate that the woman was riding a motorized wheelchair or scooter when she was struck. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle hit and dragged her all the way up to Publix’s front door.

The authorities have not disclosed the victim’s identity as they investigate the crash’s cause.
