Ft Lauderdale, FL - Eight Injured on JetBlue Flight to Jacksonville

Fort Lauderdale, FL (September 25, 2023) – On Monday, eight passengers were taken to the hospital with injuries sustained on their flight to Florida.

According to an official statement released by JetBlue, Flight 1256 encountered “sudden severe turbulence” while it was flying from Guayaquil, Ecuador, to Jacksonville, Florida.

The jet landed safely at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, where medical personnel were waiting. To the hospital went seven passengers and one member of the flying crew.

A representative for JetBlue stated in a statement that the company is doing everything it can to help its passengers and employees. The aircraft has been grounded until an investigation can be completed.

The National Transportation Safety Board is looking into the incident at this time.
