Fort Lauderdale, FL – Two Killed in Crash on I-95 near Davie Blvd
Fort Lauderdale, FL (May 31, 2021) – A woman and a man lost their lives in a fatal traffic accident on an interstate in Fort Lauderdale early Sunday, May 30. According to reports, the wreck occurred around 12:52 a.m. when the driver lost control of the car, police reported.
The man, who has not been identified, was traveling north on I-95 approaching Davie Boulevard when for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle. The car swerved to the right onto the grass shoulder and hit a concrete light pole before striking a concrete pillar of the overpass for Davie Boulevard.
The driver, only identified as a man from Pompano Beach, lost his life in the collision. A 19-year-old woman also lost her life in the wreck, according to information from officials. A passenger present in the vehicle at the time was transported to Broward Health Medical Center in critical, yet stable condition. Their name has not been released, though they were identified as a 24-year-old man from Pompano Beach.
The vehicle involved in the incident was completely destroyed, according to local news sources. Police with the Florida Highway Patrol continue to investigate the details of the incident.
