Fort Lauderdale, FL – One Killed, One Seriously Injured in Two-Car Crash on I-595 at Federal Hwy
Fort Lauderdale, FL (June 2, 2021) – A 72-year-old West Palm Beach woman died on Monday, May 31, when the SUV she was riding in collided with another vehicle and crashed near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The man who was driving, a 48-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, sustained serious injuries in the wreck, which took place just before 11:00 a.m. on Interstate 595 near the Federal Highway intersection.
Troopers with the FHP did not identify either victim. A total of six people were in the SUV, and police said the other four sustained minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
