Coral Springs Motorcycle Accidents

Florida motorcycle accidents are often a very dangerous and devastating event, both for victims as well as their families. Some more recent statistics indicate just how dangerous a motorcycle crash can be. While motorcycles make up only about 3% of all registered motor vehicles in Florida, they also account for approximately 20% of all reported fatal accidents. This number is proportionally much higher than fatal accidents that take place involving passenger cars or other larger vehicles. Motorcycles offer very little protection from the impact of a collision, a fact which can mean a more devastating outcome with a motorcycle crash compared to another type of collision.

Many motorcycle collisions in Florida take place due to the fault of other drivers. These crashes can leave a lasting impact on family members who are forced to move forward following the tragic death of their loved one. Due to the fact that many motorcyclists are not at fault for the accident, relatives are often left with the option of pursuing a legal claim related to the accident. Under Florida law, a deceased’s next-of-kin can bring a wrongful death claim against the driver who is responsible for their loved one’s death.
