pfmstock7-143 (2)

Boca Raton, FL (May 31, 2021) – Five people were tragically killed in a car accident that occurred early this past Sunday, May 30 in Boca Raton. Those who lost their lives were identified as one 18-year-old, two 13-year-olds, and two unidentified adults.

Five others, identified as children between the ages of 12 to 14, were seriously hurt in the wreck. Information from officials states that a 2013 Hyundai Genesis was speeding east on Camino Real at 12:35 a.m. when the crash occurred. The Hyundai was carrying 8 young people, two in the front and six in the back.

The vehicle was headed east on Camino Real near the intersection with Sanibel Drive when the driver lost control. The Hyundai veered onto the median and collided with a concrete light pole. It then rolled into the westbound side of Camino Real where it landed upside down on a 2014 Mercedes-Benz. The Benz had been driving west on Camino Real at the time.

Each one of the six backseat passengers was ejected from the vehicle. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Ramiro Gomez, a Deerfield Beach resident, along with two 13-year-olds of Boca Raton, were pronounced deceased at the crash scene by medical professionals.

The injured victims were identified as children from Boca Raton and Delray Beach. The driver of the Mercedes and his passenger, identified as a 58-year-old male and a 55-year-old female, were both transported to Delray Medical Center where they later lost their lives due to their injuries.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved and affected by this fatal accident in Boca Raton. We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.

Auto Accidents in Florida

Each year, there are approximately 3,000 people killed in Florida car accidents. This number places our state among the most dangerous places in the nation for motorists. Sadly, many of these accident victims will lose their lives in crashes that are not their fault. The overwhelming majority of car accidents in Florida are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. These accidents are caused by drivers who are speeding, distracted, impaired, or otherwise driving in a reckless manner. The cause of each crash must be carefully investigated in order to determine the cause and who should be held responsible.

Certainly, there is nothing more devastating than the sudden loss of a family member due to a Florida traffic accident. During this time, your focus should rightfully be on your family and moving forward following a sudden tragedy. The last thing you should have to worry about is a legal case. Fortunately, there is help available. Under Florida law, the deceased victim’s next-of-kin or legal representative has the ability to file a wrongful death claim in order to recover valuable compensation. While no amount of money can replace the loss of a family member, the money you receive can help to offset the sudden and unexpected financial burdens that you may be facing.
