Port St Lucie, FL – Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Intersection of US-1 & Spanish Lakes Rd
Port St Lucie, FL (January 14, 2021) – Authorities were dispatched to the site of a fatal pedestrian crash late Sunday evening, January 10, in the Port Saint Lucie area. At approximately 10:42 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the fatal collision that took place at the intersection of US-1 and Spanish Lakes Road.
Reports indicate that one person was struck by a vehicle at the busy intersection. Authorities have not released the details surrounding how the accident occurred. All northbound lanes of the intersection were blocked while first responders worked on the injured pedestrian at the scene. The victim was pronounced deceased a short time later.
At this time, the identity of the pedestrian and the others involved have been made public. FHP is continuing to investigate this accident.
Drivers in the area were asked to utilize alternate routes.
