Pompano Beach, FL - Pedestrian Killed in Hit & Run on N Federal Hwy

Pompano Beach, FL (April 29, 2021) – Police in Pompano Beach are currently investigating the circumstances of a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash that occurred on Wednesday, April 28. According to reports, the incident took place just before midnight on the North Federal Highway. 

Sources indicate that the wreck happened on the North Federal Highway in the vicinity of Northeast 24th Avenue. Officials in Broward County stated that responders were dispatched to the crash scene and found a victim lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. 

The victim, who has not been identified at this time, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue crews. Police stated that the victim was hit by a Toyota Camry that lost control and struck a median after the initial collision. 

Reports stated that the driver who struck the man pulled into the parking lot of a nearby business to assess the damage to his vehicle before fleeing the scene. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
