Boating Accidents in Florida

Boating is an activity that is enjoyed by many Floridians. With abundant bodies of water and year-round warm temperatures, the South Florida area is known for being a place where boaters can be found on the water at nearly all times. With this, however, comes the risk of injury and even death from boating accidents. In fact, Florida led the nation in boating deaths in 2018, with more than 600 boating crashes and nearly 300 fatalities reported as a result of Florida boating accidents. These numbers underscore the danger to those who are on the water, whether they are in a boat, jet ski, or other personal watercraft.

The cause of boating accidents in Florida varies, but in many cases, they are caused by reckless and inexperienced boaters. Impaired boating is also a frequent reason for crashes as boaters who are under the influence are unable to safely operate a vessel. Regardless of the cause, if you or a loved one have been affected by a boating accident in our state, you should speak with a boating accident attorney in Florida as soon as possible in order to protect your legal rights.
