Miami, FL – Scooter Hit by Truck, Elderly Man in Critical Condition

Miami, FL (November 17, 2020) – An elderly man was sent to the hospital in critical condition after he was struck by a truck while riding his scooter this past Sunday morning. 

First responders in Miami including the City of Miami Police and Fire Rescue squads were called to assist at the crash scene. The wreck occurred on Southwest First Street and 14th Avenue at approximately 10:00 a.m. this past Sunday morning. 

The contributing factors of the collision have yet to be determined at this point in time. 

A witness who was present at the intersection at the time of the crash stated that the truck that struck the man only stopped for a moment before speeding away from the crash scene. 

The elderly scooter rider, who has not been identified at this time, was transported to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
