Miami, FL – Multi-Car Crash With Tractor-Trailer on Florida’s Turnpike

Miami, FL - Injury Crash Reported on SW 37th Avenue

Miami, FL (January 13, 2021) – A multi-car crash occurred on Florida’s Turnpike at Okeechobee Road that involved a tractor-trailer. The incident was said to have taken place at approximately 8:36 a.m. on Wednesday morning, January 13.

Police and paramedics along with fire crews were dispatched to the crash scene that involved a tractor-trailer that went off the road and tipped over. The total number of injured victims remains unknown at this time. Their identities have not been made public as police continue to investigate. The nature and magnitude of any injuries that resulted from the accident remain unknown at the current time. 

An unknown number of injured crash victims required life flighting to nearby hospitals for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The northbound and southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike were closed for a period of time after the accident occurred in order to allow first responders to work at the crash site. 

Nothing further has been disclosed to the public concerning the circumstances of the accident.
