 Boating Accidents in Florida

Florida is home to many waterways. On any given day, many boaters can be seen enjoying our lakes, oceans, and rivers. While a day on the water often brings joy and great memories, the day can also unexpectedly turn tragic at a moment’s notice. Boating and watercraft accidents in Florida happen quite often, more than in most other states. A Florida boating accident can result in serious and life-altering injuries.

Sadly, most of the boating accidents that do occur are completely preventable. Many boating crashes in Florida occur due to alcohol use. In our state, it is illegal to operate a boat under the influence of an impairing substance. Unfortunately, many people choose not to follow the law and the outcome is a crash involving injuries to one or more victims. Other boating accidents can be caused by faulty equipment or inexperience on behalf of the boat operator. Regardless, the cause of the incident must be carefully investigated by authorities.

Filing a claim for boating injury requires an attorney with an understanding of these cases and the causes of a boating accident as well all applicable Florida boating laws.
