Car Accidents in Miami

Florida, and the Miami area in particular, can be a very dangerous place for motorists. As one of the largest metro areas in the country, Miami sees millions of drivers each year. These drivers are both local residents as well as visitors from across the world. The high traffic volume also contributes to a high rate of traffic accidents. For the past several years, there have been more than 60,000 reported car accidents in Miami on an annual basis. About 50% of these accidents have resulted in injuries while just over 1,000 people are killed each year in crashes on Miami’s roadways.

These statistics show us some of the dangers associated with driving in Miami. Motorists can always take precautions, including following all traffic laws, driving at a safe rate of speed, and not driving while distracted or impaired. These precautions certainly lower the risks associated with driving. However, not all accidents are avoidable. In some cases, the actions of other motorists make it impossible to avoid becoming an accident victim. In these cases, innocent motorists may have valuable legal rights.

Under Florida law, if you or a loved one have been injured in a collision, you could be entitled to compensation. Your pain and suffering, lost wages, and medical bills can all be compensated if the crash was not your fault. The actual amount or value of your case can only be determined by a skilled car accident attorney in Miami with experience handling accident claims.
