Injury Accidents in Miami

A car accident in Florida can take a major toll on victims. Last year in our state, there were nearly 400,000 reported crashes. Over 250,000 individuals were hurt as a result. While many accidents result in minor injuries or no injuries, some are far more serious and can lead to severe injuries or even death. Victims who suffer substantial injuries in Florida car accidents can face months of rehab and recovery. During this time, they may be unable to work and support themselves and their families. Their quality of life can also suffer greatly as they struggle to return to the lifestyle that they enjoyed prior to the crash.

While the crash itself and the aftermath can be devastating, the accident does not have to define your life. If you were injured due to the actions of another motorist, you have legal rights and you should take steps to protect them right away. Florida law provides that injured victims can receive payment for their pain and suffering, lost wages, medical bills, and possibly more. This normally comes from the other driver’s insurance company. In some cases, your own insurance company may be required to get involved in order to pay for your damages. This can happen when the other driver does not have insurance or their insurance is insufficient to cover your injuries.

Due to the complexity of the laws, it is important to have a car accident attorney in Miami who can advise you when you have been injured. Your attorney will explain the law to you and will help you navigate your case and ultimately obtain a resolution on your behalf. If you attempt to handle a serious accident claim without a lawyer you could be jeopardizing the value of your case. Many people end up settling with the insurance company for far less than what their case is worth.
