Miami-Dade, FL - Vehicle Crash with Injuries on S Dixie Hwy near SW 9th Ave

Miami-Dade, FL (August 12, 2021) – At least one person sustained injuries in an auto accident that happened on a highway in Miami-Dade on the evening of August 11. Sources indicate that the wreck happened at around 7:30 p.m. for reasons still under investigation.

According to information from officials, the collision took place in the 17000 block of the South Dixie Highway in the vicinity of Southwest 9th Avenue. Two or more vehicles collided in the area resulting in injuries for those involved.

Paramedics were seen at the scene, however, it remains unclear how many people required emergency medical treatment on-site. Those with extensive injuries were taken to area medical centers for treatment as needed.

The identities of those involved have not been released at this time. Authorities in Miami-Dade continue to investigate the circumstances of the wreck.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved. We hope for their full and fast recovery.

Florida Car Crashes

A car accident in Fort Lauderdale or the South Florida area can leave victims and their families with tremendous pain and suffering. While not all car accidents result in injuries, more than 250,000 people were hurt and 3,100 more lost their lives in car accidents that took place on Florida’s roadways in 2019. These numbers have either remained steady or continued to increase in recent years as more negligent drivers take to the streets. Tragically, many Florida car accident victims are injured or killed in crashes that are not their fault.

If you have lost a loved one in a car accident in South Florida, you are no doubt experiencing a wave of emotions, including frustration and grief. During this time, you may also wonder if you have any legal rights related to the crash. Under Florida law, a crash victim’s next-of-kin could be entitled to file a wrongful death claim when their relative was killed as a direct result of someone else’s negligent actions. Wrongful death claims are extremely complicated, however, and should only be handled by an attorney with relevant experience in this area of the law.
