Miami Beach, FL - Woman Injured in HIt & Run Crash on Alton Rd near 10th St

Miami Beach, FL (June 15, 2021) – Two vehicles struck a woman on an electric scooter early Sunday morning in Miami Beach.

One vehicle stayed at the scene but the other fled. The vehicle that left the scene was identified as a black sedan, according to various sources.

The woman, who has not been identified, was headed south on Alton Road in the vicinity of 10th street around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 12. She was riding in the outside lane when she was hit by a car from behind, which caused her to be knocked from her scooter and into the inside lane, according to officials.

A vehicle traveling in the inside lane struck the woman after she fell off her scooter. She was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital with injuries deemed to be non-life-threatening.

Police in Miami Beach continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and her family in hopes of a full recovery.
