Martin County, FL – 70-Year-Old Man Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on CR 714
Martin County, FL (January 31, 2021) – Police and rescue crews responded to the scene of a fatal crash in Martin County on Friday, January 29th. The crash happened on County Road 714 near SW Allapattah Road.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 20-year-old man was traveling eastbound on CR 714 when, for unknown reasons, his car crossed the centerline of the roadway and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 70-year-old man from Okeechobee, was killed as a result of the accident. The 20-year-old driver sustained only minor injuries in the accident.
Troopers have not released the identity of the deceased victim or the other driver at this time. The cause of the crash remains under investigation and there is no word on potential charges. No additional details are available.
