Fatal Car Accidents in Florida

Deadly collisions in Florida occur each and every day throughout our state. In fact, according to recent numbers, a fatal car accident in Florida takes place about once every three hours or eight times per day. In 2019, over 3,100 people lost their lives in car accidents on our roadways. The reasons for each fatal car accident must be carefully investigated by authorities, however, many serious and fatal crashes take place due to the common denominator of negligent driving. Drivers who drive recklessly and without regard to the rights of others are responsible for hundreds of thousands of crashes each and every year.

If you or a loved one have been affected by a Florida car accident, you likely have many questions about where to turn next. As your medical bills begin to increase or if you are suddenly facing an uncertain future, you may wonder what your legal rights are. Under Florida law, you could be entitled to damages if your loved one was killed in a crash that was not their fault. Florida’s wrongful death statutes provide family members with the right to file an action to seek compensation, including funeral and medical bills, lost wages, and more. The claims should only be filed with the assistance of a skilled and experienced attorney.
