Florida Pedestrian Crashes

Florida is one of the most dangerous states in the country for pedestrians. According to the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, Florida is one of five states in the nation that accounts for about 50% of all fatal pedestrian accidents. Fatal pedestrian crashes take place, on average, about twice per day in our state, and there are about 600 lives lost in pedestrian accidents in Florida each year. Unfortunately, pedestrians are frequently injured or killed in crashes on our roadways. This is because pedestrians have no protection from the force and impact of a crash. Further, pedestrian crashes often take place at high speed, resulting in more serious injuries.

If you or a loved one have been affected by a pedestrian accident in Florida, it is important to have a full understanding of your legal rights. Given the seriousness of many pedestrian accidents, you are likely to have high medical costs and missed time from work. This can affect you tremendously. Beyond suffering from the pain of the accident, you can also suffer serious financial effects if you are not able to recover the compensation that you deserve following the accident. It is therefore important to obtain the services of a Florida pedestrian accident attorney as soon as possible following the crash.
