Fort Lauderdale, FL (March 10, 2021) – Police in Broward County are currently investigating a fatal hit and run pedestrian accident that occurred on Saturday, March 6. According to reports, the wreck happened at the intersection of Northwest 31st Street and Northwest 6th street when a woman was struck by two separate vehicles.

It was just after midnight when the woman, identified as Niohsha Drayton, 43, of Fort Lauderdale, was hit by two cars that both fled the scene of the incident. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue squads responded to the call concerning the double collision. 

Upon arriving at the intersection, they learned that Drayton had first been struck by one vehicle, and then a second vehicle hit her while she was lying in the roadway due to her injuries. Medical professionals sadly pronounced Drayton deceased at the scene of the crash. 

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing at this time.
