Fort Lauderdale, FL – Elderly Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Traffic Crash on Davie Boulevard
Fort Lauderdale, FL (December 23, 2020) – An elderly pedestrian lost his life following a fatal crash that took place at approximately 8:33 p.m. Saturday, December 19.
Sixty-one-year-old Jerry Posey Jr of Plantation was headed east in the vicinity of the 4500 block of Davie Boulevard Extension in his red 2008 Pontiac Vibe while an 80-year-old pedestrian was attempting to cross southbound on the roadway. The two crossed paths and the pedestrian was struck by the Pontiac.
The elderly victim, who has not been identified to the public at this time, was transported by ambulance to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. He was later pronounced deceased at approximately 9:15 p.m.
An ongoing investigation is currently active concerning the details and contributing factors of the collision.
